A Heavenly Dessert for Christmas Dinner
Now that you've assembled and shared your red velvet cake balls, here's a dessert that you can prepare the members of your immediate family. Topped with off-season raspberries, it's dramatic and extravagant ... and a beautiful way to express your love for those near and dear to you.
Ingredients
1 (18.25-oz.) package DUNCAN HINES Moist Deluxe Red Velvet Cake Mix2 (8-oz.) packages cream cheese, softened
2 cups low-fat vanilla yogurt
1 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon lemon zest
1 pt. fresh raspberries
Garnish: fresh mint sprigs

Video Demonstration
In the following cooking channel video, chef Aida demonstrates how to make red velvet trifle with whipping cream instead of cream cheese (as in the recipe above). Toasted coconut is used to garnish the dessert in place of raspberries, creating a much simpler variation.
